How to reach us.

If you would like to talk about a hospice consultation or schedule an in-home euthanasia visit, call us. The phone rings to one of three of us — Anna, Wendell, or Mei — or to Sage at the desk. We answer seven days a week from 8 AM to 8 PM. Outside those hours, leave a message. We'll call back first thing in the morning. If something is urgent and the morning is too far away, write that in the voicemail and we will try harder.

Send a message to Sage.

What to expect when you call.

The phone rings to one of us. Often it's Sage at the desk; sometimes it's Anna, Wendell, or Mei between visits. We will ask a short list of questions — your animal's name, species, age, diagnosis if any, what is happening now, and what kind of help you are looking for.

We will not pressure you to schedule anything on the first call. Many families call us once to ask questions, think for a day or two, and call back when they are ready. That is normal. We do not chase.

If you do want to schedule, we will look at our calendars and find the soonest time that works for your family. Most often we can come within 24 to 48 hours. Same-day visits are possible when we have an opening and you have an urgent need.

What if it's tonight.

If you are calling after 8 PM and your animal is comfortable but you want to talk to one of us, leave a voicemail. We listen to messages first thing in the morning, often by 7 AM, and call back as early as you've asked us to.

If your animal is in active distress and the morning is too far away, please call DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital in NW Portland at (503) 228-7281 — they are open 24/7 and can stabilize tonight. VCA Northwest Veterinary Specialists in Clackamas is also open 24/7. Either is a good call for an after-hours crisis.

For a planned in-home euthanasia visit, the morning is almost always the right time. Take tonight to be with your animal, to sleep beside them if you want, and to call us first thing.
